Working Late Sucks

Work Sucks - A M-F Daily Diary

It seems as if only a few hours ago I last posted.  And that is why work sucks today.

  1. Today it’s not so much the work itself that sucks.  It is the fact that I have been doing it since fairly early this morning and am still doing it now that pretty much licks bung. (Note Timestamp) 

 

Music Rocks - A “When I Get Time” Daily Diary

Today was the d-to-the-doubble dope shit because…

  1. We recorded guitar for the remaining 6 tracks on our album and are on track for November release.
  2. Now, the most pressing item to keep on schedule is the album artwork.

P.S. What the fuck am I going to do once this album is done?

Congress Sucks Just a Little Less Today

Thankfully, Congress deflected the most recent unbelievable corporate welfare attempt today.  Although, I am sure they will just put together some similarly disturbing bill to pass next week.  However, given my earlier post, I thought it best to give them a little credit for today’s effort.

Good job, Congress.  You only MOSTLY suck.

$700 Billion Bailout Atrocity

Work Sucks - A M-F Daily Diary

We have a new spin on why work sucks today…

  1. Today work sucks because at least some pecentage of my time will be spent working to help bailout the bullshit finance companies associated with the treasury’s $700 Billion American public train robbery, which the government is bending over to accept.
  2. I don’t have a mortgage.  Most people I care about are paying their mortgage just fine because they did not spend more than they could afford.
  3. I am getting really tired of paying for goverment and corporate inefficiencies.

Today music is the shit because…

  1. I am in the studio recording guitars for the last 6 songs of our upcoming album.
  2. We are recording these guitars with Dave Wood, who happens to be a complete badass (a la Jesse McCartney and Hillary Duff).
  3. The amps are turned up to 11.

Work Sucks - A M-F Daily Diary

Today work is dreadful because…

  1. I am dealing with yet another Friday hangover (I might as well just cut and paste every week).
  2. To give you an indication as to the magnitude of this particular hangover: I woke up this morning at 10:30.  I went into my kitchen to find empty, crusty guacamole bowls and chips all over.  There were empty margarita glasses and a bottle of whiskey.  And, probably most important, a bird flying around the room slamming into the kitchen windows.
  3. Now THAT is a hangover.

  1. We found out the details of the great gig opportunity I posted about yesterday and they want us to sell $1225 in tickets.  I am judging by the number of comments we get on our blog, that either we will not meet that goal or we will have to sell tickets for $204.25 each.  (Note: Sacasm)

Work Sucks - A M-F Daily Diary

Jobs are like a box of chocolates.

  1. They never really tell you what is inside a box of chocolates until you buy it.
  2. Like jobs, chocolates seem great before you sink your teeth into one.  Then you find that there is some horrible shit inside that leaves a bad taste in your mouth for a long time.
  3. If it’s cool, a box of chocolates is fine.  If it is not cool, it melts and turns into a pile of shit with peanuts and other really nasty stuff in it.
  4. Boxes of chocolates are usually made by pompous fat cats who don’t understand that most people just want Fiddle Faddle.

 

And, I’m vegan, so I hate boxes of chocolates.

Today music is killer because…

  1. Saw Ozomatli last night, with Michael Franti and Spearhead, and Lila Downs.
  2. Guest appearances by Charlie Tuna and Ja Rule.
  3. Circus performers and high school cheerleaders (not necessarily in order of priority).
  4. Our trumpet player, Chris Bautista, was playing with Lila Downs, the opening performer, to a crowd of 18,000.

I closed my eyes for a minute and saw my band playing the Hollywood Bowl.  Ahh, destiny.  It’s a good thing.

Work sucks like it always does when I have a hangover except:

  1. This morning I woke up at 8am at the foot of my bed with my legs hanging off and all of my clothes still on.  Let’s just say, that was very accurate foreshadowing of how I was to feel throughout the day.

Today music is dope because…

  1. We got another track back from mixing and Yotam is flying out to Boston to wrap up a few more with our mixing engineer this weekend.  We are almost ready to print new press kits with a better cd.  That means college gigs, and college gigs means college chicks.
  2. Going to see Ozomatli on Sunday.  Slick.
