With the number of shows KBH Entertainment has booked over the years, it is not uncommon to be “surprised” by a performance. This is not always a good thing. However, to be “pleasantly surprised” is quite rare. That would describe my experience at a recently booked Capitalist Hippie Complex show. The players were all excellent and proved to be quite compelling with their funk/groove/rock hybrid sound. The tongue-in-cheek rapped yarns delivered by Joey, the dread-locked front man, put a unique spin on this wall of sound. The sultry and powerful vocals of Lilla D’Mone rounded out this impressive performance. We look forward to having CHC play again.
