The CHC is an experiment in cold-fusion, combining funk, jazz, hip hop, spoken word, and anything else they feel like into a high-energy sound with lyrics that do more than just rhyme. The CHC’s unique approach to merging genres and streams of consciousness has generated attention from nationally distributed Skope Magazine and earned them a Colorado Music Summit appearance with two-time Grammy Award winners Arrested Development.
With serious influence from the LA spoken word scene and a handful of conscious hip hop artists, Joey Flores has teamed up with insanely talented jazz composer and producer extraordinaire, Yotam Rosenbaum, to write an eclectic mix of high-energy works that are always served hot. In January of 2007, they assembled a team of some of L.A.’s finest musicians to form a slamming 9-piece band, complete with vibraphone and a three-piece horn section.
